I am particularly interested in studying active tectonics. To determine slip rates and the seismic hazard I use different quaternary dating methods (10Be, 14C, OSL), fault scarp profiles as well as paleoseismologic analyses. In my Postdoc project I focus on the Quaternary history of uplift and subsidence on Honshu island, i.e. the area that was affected by the giant Japan earthquake on March 11th 2011.
